Reasons to Move to Bowthorpe/Three Score

Bowthorpe is a modern suburban community located in the west of Norwich. The area has been heavily rebuilt – ongoing since the 1970s. Bowthorpe has three residential area: Clover Hill, Chapel Break and Three Score. Three Score is in phase two of a large development project that will see hundreds of houses built to the environmentally conscious Passivhaus standard. We often have houses available to rent in this area. They are popular with students, families and professional sharers.

Property

All the redevelopment that has been ongoing in this area of Norwich has meant that, on average, the properties in Bowthorpe are more modern than those found elsewhere in the city. Renting a modern house already significantly reduces energy bills – the new generation of homes built to Passivhaus standard will be among the cheapest to heat in the whole country!

Community

The developments in Three Score have been built around a ‘Greenway’ to encourage walking and cycling between the various natural green spaces that have been preserved. At one end of the greenway stands the £19 million Bowthorpe Care Village that opened a couple of years ago. There’s a community garden and a community centre that even boasts its own pub: ‘The Norkie’.

Location

Three Score is the closest housing development to the Norwich Research Park and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The University of East Anglia is well within walking distance and the city centre is a short drive or bus ride away on the Orange Line. Bowthorpe is surrounded by large open spaces and parks.

Schools

Chapel Break and Clover Hill Infants Schools both achieved either ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ in all aspects of their most recent Ofsted inspections. St Michael’s Junior School is rated ‘Good’. There are no high schools in Bowthorpe at the moment – the nearest high schools are Ormiston Victory Academy in Costessey and City Academy Norwich in Earlham.
