Don’t Leave It to the Last Minute to Secure Your Student Let
- Tenants
After the mess that Covid made of the 2020/21 academic year, the new class starting in September is slightly more prepared for disruption. We are advising students not to panic if they haven’t sorted accommodation yet, but also warning them not to leave it to the last minute.
Around The Country
The picture around the country is variable with some University towns and cities reporting a high take-up according to one industry article published in the spring. However in the comments beneath some agencies and landlords said this did not chime with their own experience.
Properties in High Demand
The experience of long lockdowns has understandably led to an increased demand for properties with space. Private space where lectures can be absorbed over video conferencing software, and shared space where students can socialise within their bubble. Features such as gardens that may have traditionally been lower on a student’s priority list are increasingly seen as essential.
Our Student Lettings
Around 95% of our student properties for September have now been let, and our industry colleagues are reporting similar figures. But don’t panic if you have been putting off securing a property because you were worried that the term might be affected by Covid again. We still have some great properties to let.
